Training Series

Engaging Jewish Grandparents Today:
3-Part Webinar Training for Jewish Organizational Professionals

Grandparents are our community’s superpower — essential organizational and family influencers. How can we offer intentional programming and meaningful engagement opportunities for Jewish grandparents? How can we better support the needs of grandparents, while boosting the involvement of this key constituency?

Join the Jewish Grandparents Network for a dynamic three-part series offering a robust toolkit for serving your grandparent community. This series will:

  • Offer key insights into the opportunities and challenges (the “joys and oys”) of Jewish grandparenting today.
  • Provide tangible strategies for designing joyful and participatory programming for grandparents and grandchildren.
  • Offer an incubator to try out ways you’ll embrace grandparents in your community.

Who is this course designed for?

Led by Jonathan Shmidt Chapman, award-winning theater artist, writer, and Jewish educator, and the expert professional team at JGN, the course is designed for professionals in Jewish organizations and Grandparent Group lay leaders.

Participants should be the individuals in their organization responsible for creating, designing, and/or leading multigenerational community programming that can include grandparent participants. Examples: clergy, programming staff, education staff, or other professionals tasked with programming/engagement.

What is the structure of the course?

  • There will be three sessions of 1½ hours each.
  • All sessions will take place virtually on Zoom, with some prep work between sessions.
