SUMMARY:The Floor Is Yours! Listening Session with JGN’s New Executive Director Debra S. Weinberg
DESCRIPTION:You and your grandchild can turn the Thanksgiving season into an opportunity to put Jewish values into action and strengthen your shared commitment to building a more just world through service. For many\, Thanksgiving is a time centered around food and abundance. Yet for families experiencing food insecurity\, and for those struggling with rising food costs\, it can also be a time of uncertainty and worry. This guide will help you create a Jewish service learning experience you can share with your grandchild — one that connects Jewish values with meaningful action and helps ensure that more people in your community have access to the food they need. Developed by Repair the World\, the 22-page guide has easy “jump links” so you can choose to read just what you want. Among the contents are: Why Volunteer?Jewish Lens on Food SecurityWhere and How to Serve?PLUS\, many companion resourcesThis guide was featured in the webinar Generations for Good: How Grandparents and Grandchildren Can Collaborate on Service Experiences\, presented in partnership with Repair the World. Watch the webinar recording for more ideas on serving your community with your grandchild.
